JET Program

JET

The JET Program is designed to help young people develop the mindset, skills, and strategies they need to navigate their personal and academic journeys with confidence.

Through engaging activities, discussions, and real-world applications, students will develop essential life skills, including self-awareness, decision-making, empathy, and effective communication.

By encouraging students to explore their personal strengths, set meaningful goals, and overcome obstacles, the JET Program prepares them for a smooth transition into adolescence—giving them the tools they need to thrive, both in and out of the classroom.

Like any journey, preparation is key. Throughout this program, students will build their toolkits—a set of essential skills, resources, and personal insights that will support them in reaching their goals. These toolkits will help them overcome challenges, make informed decisions, and create a clear path toward their ideal future.

  • Students will explore the concept of value, develop an awareness of their own intrinsic worth and the equal worth of others, and learn practical ways to foster self-respect and treat others with kindness and dignity.

  • Students will explore the difference between comparison and inspiration, recognise their personal values and how they may differ from others, and reflect on their unique qualities as they embark on a journey of self-acceptance.

  • Students will recognise their own courage, challenge misconceptions about strength by focusing on mental resilience, and explore the benefits of teamwork while identifying their key supporters.

  • Students will develop decision-making skills, reflect on the impact of their words and peer influence, and learn to identify healthy and unhealthy friendships that shape their choices and behaviours.

  • Students will explore the impact of growth and fixed mindsets on self-perception, recognise their own potential, understand the importance of a positive environment for growth, and identify strategies to build confidence.

  • Students will recognise and label emotions, develop strategies for emotional regulation, and strengthen problem-solving skills to make empowered choices in challenging moments.

  • Students will recognise the value of developing resilience, understand the power of vulnerability and exercise cognitive flexibility in problem-solving, acceptance and letting go.

  • Students will identify personal desires and strengths, distinguish between values and goals and develop an understanding that they have something to contribute.

  • Students will experience a sense of belonging and connectedness to a group and have a personal experience of achievement and accomplishment
